The successful Sixth Form Teacher will be responsible for supporting our young people in making a successful transition from adolescence into adulthood and ensure readiness for independent living, further education and/or supported employment.
You will be required to provide an engaging curriculum that further enables personalised learning opportunities and allows our young people to both consolidate and broaden their skills as well as encouraging pupils to becoming active members of their communities, who participate and make a positive contribution.
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic teacher with a passion for teaching children with SEND. No additional qualifications in SEND are required, but some experience in teaching children with SEND whether in a special or a mainstream setting would be desirable.
You will have an understanding of a range of enterprise and enrichment opportunities and be able to firmly establish community links and relationships. You will be committed, hardworking and enthusiastic with the knowledge, skills and understanding required to support challenging pupils to achieve their full potential.
Nethergate Academy is a special academy in the City of Nottingham for 112 pupils with moderate and complex learning difficulties. The age range is from 5-19 years with a range of ability extending from P6 – L6. Many pupils have autism and some have SEMH needs.
