Our Sixth form Open Evening will run alongside the Year 11 Parents’ evening on 14th December 2023. In our last set of national data at Key Stage 5 we achieved a positive value-added score across Year 13. This means that, on average, every student achieves their target grade or above. We are also proud that 100% of our cohort moved on to work or further education; over 76% of our students went to university in 2023, with the remainder going on to study higher apprenticeships (19%) or move on to employment. This has coincided with increasing numbers of our students managing to get into prestigious Russell Group universities (20% of our cohort); this summer, for instance, students left to study medicine at the University of Nottingham, Psychology at the University of Edinburgh and Actuarial Science at the University of York. This sustained success means that now is a great time to be a part of our expanding and successful, community based Sixth form.
You will then have the opportunity to visit our Sixth form Open Evening where there will be hourly talks from 5pm until 7:30pm to give you a flavour of what our highly successful Sixth form has to offer. Our teachers will also be present to answer any questions you have about teaching and learning in their subjects at Key Stage 5. Furthermore, we will have representatives from the University of Northampton and a Career Advisor from Prospects to ensure that your child’s choices go beyond our Sixth form and are based on future career goals.
If you wish to know more about our Sixth Form, you will find more information, our prospectus and online taster lessons available on our section of the Academy’s website:
Our Sixth form is very popular, and I strongly recommend that your child secures their place in advance. It is important that they attend the open evening and access the online taster sessions before completing the application to ensure that they select the subjects that best suit them. Guidance as to how to complete the application will be within my presentation during the evening. The first stage of the process will be for your child to express their intent to study at our Sixth Form – most students have already done so, but if not, they will need to click on the following link and complete our Microsoft Teams form. This link has already been emailed to them:
