We are delighted to share that Newark Hill Academy has been awarded IQM Centre of Excellence status, recognising the school’s deeply embedded culture of inclusion, belonging and high expectations.

At Newark Hill, creating an environment where every child feels safe, understood and valued is at the heart of daily practice. Emotional regulation, positive relationships and inclusive approaches are not add‑ons – they are woven into everything the academy does to ensure pupils are ready to learn, grow and thrive.

The assessor’s report reflected the strength of this work, with feedback that was both affirming and inspiring. Highlights included:

• Pupils and families described the academy as inclusive, nurturing and rich with opportunities.
• One pupil shared that the school is simply “a great opportunity”.
• Parents expressed that they “could not think of anything else the school could do” to support their children.
• The assessor praised Newark Hill as “a calm, relational and evidence‑informed, inclusive school.”
• Inclusion was recognised as fully embedded in everyday practice - something the academy is, not something it adds.

This recognition is a wonderful way to end the term and reflects the dedication of the whole Newark Hill community.
