Nursery outdoor makeover sparks excitement at Danesholme Infant Academy
Children at Danesholme Infant Academy are set to benefit from an exciting transformation of their nursery outdoor area, as the school unveils a newly developed play provision designed to enrich learning and spark imagination.
The revamped space features a range of engaging resources and zones aimed at supporting early development, including areas for creative play, exploration, and physical activity. The improvements are part of the Academy’s ongoing commitment to providing high-quality learning environments for its youngest pupils.
The new outdoor area was officially opened by Wayne Norrie OBE, CEO, of Greenwood Academies Trust, who joined staff and pupils to celebrate the investment and see first-hand the impact the space will have on children’s daily experiences.
Sonia Kendal, Executive Principal at Danesholme Infant Academy praised the development, highlighting its importance for early years education, saying:
“This new outdoor area will transform the pupils’ learning, giving them greater opportunities for imaginative play and exploration. We know how important outdoor learning is in the early years, and this space will inspire creativity, confidence and curiosity in every child.”
Staff at the Academy are already looking forward to incorporating the enhanced environment into daily learning, using the space to support communication skills, social development, and problem-solving through play.
The nursery at Danesholme Infant Academy operates during term time and is currently welcoming new families, with places available now. The school is encouraging parents and carers to get in touch to find out more about the provision and secure a place.
This latest investment reflects the academy’s dedication to ensuring every child has the best possible start to their education, combining high-quality teaching with inspiring environments where children can thrive.
