We're incredibly proud of Jessica, a pupil at Studfall Infant Academy, who has received a bravery award for her quick thinking and courage in an emergency. When her mother suffered a seizure and fell down a flight of stairs, Jessica sprang into action - recalling a conversation they'd had about what to do in such situations, she dialled 999 and calmly followed the instructions she was given.

The East Midlands Ambulance Service (EMAS) crew who responded to the call later presented Jessica with a bravery award at school. EMAS commended her for staying "calm and brave throughout the call, listening clearly to the instructions given."

Jessica's mother has called her a hero - and we wholeheartedly agree!
